How to Apply for a DBA in Texas

DBA is short for "Doing Business As." In Texas, it's often called an "Assumed Name." A DBA is a legal declaration that you are conducting business under a name different from your legal, personal name. If you name your business something other than your legal name, you must submit a DBA with the county clerk in the county where your business is located.
